Alex's Bio

I was born and raised here in Phoenix, Arizona and I have been here all my life. I'm 22 years old and this is my fifth semester at Phoenix College and my third semester in the S-STEM program. I live with my mother and five brothers. I am the third oldest from the six of us and a first generation college student. I motivate my brothers to follow their dreams and support them all the way.

I have always found math and science more interesting than any other of the subjects throughout school. In the past semester at STEM I have been working with robotics with Josh and it's something I've really enjoyed and will continue working on this new semester. My academic goal is to complete two or three years here at Phoenix College and then transfer to ASU to study to be a Mechanical Engineer. I currently am working at a restaurant called Zinburger. I enjoy watching movies, hiking and spending time with friends and family.

I believe education is the key to success. Unfortunately most of my family did not finish school or continue to study as they grew up in a very different environment in Mexico. My family has always supported me and pushed me to do my best to have a better life than they had in the past. My family is a great motivation for me to move forward in life and school. I only wish to make everyone proud of my accomplishments and to help those in need of my services in the future.
